Rainbow Belts

Rainbow Belts: Taste the Rainbow
Rainbow Belts seeds grow into medium to tall, lanky plants with long green leaves and large buds. The stems of this strain are particularly strong, and because the plant is so narrow and thin, it might require a little assistance to keep it upright. The buds are covered in red and orange pistils as well as dusty trichomes. It appears as if this strain of cannabis was sprinkled with sweet sugar because of the resiny trichomes. The finished nuggets are leafy and dense and, when broken up, release a diesel-like aroma that cannabis users love. You can also notice the resin and amber hairs that have transferred from growth to harvest. Even though Rainbow Belts is a super-young strain in weed years, it still has a monster resume. It won the 2023 Elite Transbay Challenge IV in Los Angeles and then, a few short months later, took home both first and second place in the Spannabis Champions Cup. Before its soft open release in 2022, the strain was named a top strain to grow in 2020 by Leafly. With a resume like this, there is little mystery surrounding the popularity of the Rainbow Belts strain of marijuana.
Growing Tips for Our Seeds
While Rainbow Belts is usually moderately difficult to cultivate, it is 100% worth the effort. Newer growers are encouraged to give this strain a shot if they are up for the challenge, however, we recommend spending a fair amount of time researching and gleaning advice from other local growers before jumping in. While there is not a lot of cultivation information on the Rainbow Belts strain, it is safe to say that it prefers a similar climate to the one that its parent strains require, which is a Mediterranean-adjacent climate. Rainbow Belts plants are not known for being incredibly mold-resistant, so growers would do well to maintain consistent airflow between the tall, slender branches. Consider low-stress training and trellising as well.
Dial in Your Growing Conditions
- Indoor or Outdoor: Rainbow Belts cannabis plants can be grown indoors and outdoors by novice growers. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit. During the vegetative phase, maintain a light cycle of 18-20 hours of light per day to promote healthy growth. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will induce the flowering stage and take you all the way to harvest.
- Moisture control: Humidity levels should be kept around 50-55% during the vegetative stage and maintained at around 40-50% during the flowering stage of growth. Lowering the humidity will help keep mold and mildew off of your plants.
- Training Techniques: Low-stress training (LST) and topping can really help with the success of this particular strain. Both methods help to increase yields by allowing light and air to reach the lower levels of the plant.
The Germination Game Plan
Before you even plant your Rainbow Belts female cannabis plants, you will first need to germinate these seeds. To do so, refer to our free germination guide, knowing that they are backed by our impressive 90% germination guarantee.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect to harvest after a short flowering period of 50-60 days. If grown outdoors, the grower can expect to harvest in the middle to the end of October.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 610 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 450 grams per plant. Between the yields, ease of the grow and THC content, this strain is the ideal strain for beginner growers to really get their sea legs with. It is perfect for first-timers and should produce massive yields.
Dominant Terpenes in Rainbow Belts: Technicolor Taste
The Rainbow Belts terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while linalool and limonene are secondary terpenes.
- Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – The spicy and peppery terpene found in nature as well as in some cannabis strains.
- Linalool: Secondary Terpene – Aromatic terpene that can be found mostly in cannabis strains as well as essential oils.
- Limonene: Sweet Citrus – Found commonly in the rinds of citrus fruits, this terpene, when found in marijuana, can help with anxiety and improve lung function.
Dominant Cannabinoids in Rainbow Belts:
Cannabinoids play an important role in Rainbow Belts seeds and are generally a huge part of most strains of cannabis. That euphoric, uplifted, and relaxed feeling you get when enjoying the Rainbow Belts strain is due to its dominant cannabinoids. Each cannabinoid does something different to the user.
- THC: The Main Character – THC is the most dominant cannabinoid on the molecular level of this strain. The crystalline compound tetrahydrocannabinol is the main ingredient of cannabis. Topping out at 22%, the THC in this balanced hybrid strain is responsible for the euphoric and relaxed feeling you get when enjoying Rainbow Belts cannabis.
- CBD: Very Minimal Amounts – While the CBD levels in Rainbow Belts are around 1%, the cannabinoid is still present, and the effects are noticeable in this strain. CBD plays a smaller role in what the strain does to the user. CBD is non-psychoactive and can produce effects that help with anxiety, sleep, pain, and even stress. The CBD in the Rainbow Belts strain, even in its lower amounts, definitely has a positive effect on the user.
