Is cannabis legal in Arizona?
Arizona saw quite a setback between the first murmurs of statewide medical marijuana legalization and the official passing of the laws! However, medical cannabis was finally allowed through Proposition 203 in 2010 (source 1).
In addition, adults who are 21 years of age and older are also allowed to buy and use cannabis for recreational purposes thanks to the passage of Proposition 207 in 2020 (source 2).

How many cannabis plants can I grow in Arizona?
Perhaps one of the coolest things about Arizona’s marijuana laws–at least as far as we’re concerned–is that they include some grow-your-own rules. The aforecited Proposition 203 mandated that medical marijuana patients can only grow up to 12 cannabis plants at home in an enclosed, locked facility if they live further than 25 miles from a dispensary. However, the passage of recreational cannabis in Arizona grants those who are 21+ the legal right to grow up to six marijuana plants at home in an enclosed, locked facility (source 3).
Perhaps the biggest issue prospective growers face with marijuana cultivation in Arizona are those hot temps. As such, gardeners need to ensure their little guys are getting enough water and that their plants aren’t baking in the sunshine for too many hours a day.
The Best Cannabis Seeds for Sale in Arizona
Growers Choice is proud to offer up some of the finest Arizona cannabis seeds in the country! We source our seeds from just two trusted breeders, so we always know exactly what we’re getting, and you can also rely on the rapport we’ve built with our suppliers. Our more than 500 strains are all fully and reliably feminized using methods that cultivators now swear by. Within our ranks, you’ll see feminized photoperiod cannabis seeds, like Runtz and GMO Cookies, and auto-flowering cannabis seeds, such as LA Woman and Charlie Sheen, as well as high-CBD cannabis seeds, like CBD Shark and Midnight, in both feminized and autoflowering form.
Oh, and if you’re unsure what photoperiods and autoflowers are, allow us to quickly explain. In brief, photoperiod seeds, which we often just refer to as “feminized seeds,” are reliant on changes being made to their light cycles in order for them to move from their vegetative growth stage to their flowering phase. While this varies from strain to strain, the general rule of thumb is that photoperiods need 18-24 hours of light during their vegetative period and an equal 12 hours of light and dark to transition and stay in their flowering period. As such, some in Arizona prefer to grow their feminized strains indoors where they have full control over the light schedules.
Autoflowers, as their name implies, are able to automatically switch to their flowering stage on their own. This is because they have had a percentage of ruderalis added to their genetics. The addition of this hardy landrace strain from Central Asia also allows autoflowering strains to produce plants that are smaller, faster flowering, and more resilient than their feminized photoperiod counterparts. Basically, while not all of our feminized photoperiods are autoflowering, all of our autoflowers are feminized strains.
Female vs. Male Marijuana Plants
The best thing about buying feminized cannabis seeds is that you know you’ll likely be able to harvest as many seeds as you bought because feminized seeds have a 99% likelihood of blossoming into bud-producing female marijuana plants.
Regular seeds, on the other hand, have a 50/50 chance of producing male plants. While this is great if you want to create your own cannabis strains, as males serve as pollinators, this isn’t useful for your typical at-home grower in Arizona. Why? Well, male plants can end up cross-pollinating your female plants, resulting in them going to seed.
As such, the fact that we only sell feminized photoperiods and feminized autoflowers, you don’t have to waste your time identifying and weeding out the males.
How many cannabis seeds can I buy?
While Arizona, like all states where cannabis cultivation is legal, places a limit on the number of cannabis plants you can have growing at any given time, it does not mandate how many marijuana seeds you are allowed to buy and possess.
As such, you’re free to buy as many cannabis seeds from us as your heart desires. We sell all of our landrace and hybrid marijuana seed strains in packs of 3, 5, 10, and 25. If you’re new to growing or are experimenting with a strain that you’ve never cultivated or used before, then we recommend buying three or five seeds. Otherwise, going for 10 or 25 is a wise idea as not only is it more economical, but you can always simply store your extra cannabis seeds until you’re ready to germinate them after you harvest your allotted 6 or 12 cannabis plants.
Lastly, we understand that it’s unlikely that you will be buying from us in bulk, unless you’re a licensed commercial cultivator in Arizona, we do want to mention that we do sell discounted wholesale seeds in packages of 500, 1,000, and 2,000.
What do I do if my seeds don’t germinate?
Fear not! If you follow our simple germination method and 90% of your cannabis seeds still fail to sprout their taproots, then we will replace the non-viable ones for free, as all of our seeds are fully backed by our germination guarantee. Therefore, you can buy from us at Growers Choice with the confidence that the quality we promise is the quality you will receive.
Does Growers Choice deliver to Arizona?
Yes, we deliver everywhere in Arizona, and throughout all of North America. When you order with us, know that we will ship your cannabis seeds out quickly and in discreet packaging. While it’s 100% legal to cultivate cannabis in the State of Arizona, the fact remains that some don’t want their neighbors prying into their business and/or for those in large cities, porch pirates can be a real issue. As such, our stealth packaging also helps to detract any unwanted attention. So, go ahead and order today, so that you can get to growing ASAP!
