What is Tahoe OG Cannabis?

If you’re venturing into the world of cannabis cultivation or just curious about legendary strains, let’s introduce you to Tahoe OG Kush. This strain, known as a perfect balance of Indica and Sativa, hails from the scenic area of Lake Tahoe: It’s a result of meticulous breeding efforts. Tahoe OG Kush stands out for its feminized seeds, creating a hassle-free growing experience, particularly appealing for those who prefer not to sort male from female plants.

This cannabis strain has an earthy flavor profile, reminiscent of the natural landscapes it originates from. Its flowering times are efficient for growers, typically spanning 9-10 weeks, making it a great choice for cultivators who value a quick turnaround without sacrificing quality. Yield-wise, expect a generous harvest per square meter, especially when grown under optimal conditions.

But Tahoe OG Kush isn’t just about its cultivation prowess. Prepare yourself for its powerful effects, offering a unique experience that’s both soothing and invigorating.

What are the Effects of Tahoe OG?

Tahoe OG Kush, which can sometimes seem like an indica-dominant strain, is actually a perfectly-balanced hybrid. It is known for its potent and soothing effects, which are loved by experienced and novice cannabis enthusiasts. This strain, cultivated from top-quality Tahoe OG weed seeds, offers a rich and rewarding cannabis experience.

Upon indulging in Tahoe OG Kush, users often report a profound sense of relaxation, making it an ideal choice for unwinding after a long day. Its effects are characterized by a tranquilizing property that gently eases the mind and body into a state of soothing comfort. This is particularly felt in its autoflower variety, Tahoe OG Auto, which retains the strain’s famous effects while offering a more manageable cultivation experience for both indoor growers and those new to the cannabis scene.

This strain’s effects are not just limited to relaxation. Many users find themselves in a clear-headed high, accompanied by euphoric properties that uplift the mood. This combination of soothing and happy-making effects makes Tahoe OG Kush a favorite among cannabis connoisseurs. The experience is further enhanced by its earthy and pungent taste, which delights the taste buds, adding a sensory explosion to the overall experience. Tahoe OG cannabis is a standout in hybrids, and this strain is one of the reasons so many cannabis enthusiasts seek the balance of both sativa and indica.

What do Tahoe OG Cannabis Plants Look Like?

Tahoe OG Kush, a famous strain in the cannabis family, has a striking visual appeal that dazzles both experienced growers and novices alike. This Indica-dominant strain, loved for its robust growth, has a classic cannabis structure with a few distinctive features.

The plants themselves are typically moderate in height, which shows it’s somewhere in between an indica and sativa. They have dense, bushy foliage, which shows more of their indica genetics. The leaves of Tahoe OG Kush are a deep, rich green, often with hints of darker shades, especially under optimal environmental conditions. These leaves have tightly packed buds that are generously covered in trichomes, giving them a frosty appearance that’s highly sought after by cannabis connoisseurs.

The buds of Tahoe OG Kush are particularly impressive. They are chunky and substantial, giving off a pungent aroma that hints at the strain’s potent effects. These buds are mixed with vibrant orange pistils, adding a touch of color to the overall green palette of the plant. As the flowering phase progresses, these colors may deepen, showing off the real beauty of this marijuana plant.

How do I Grow Tahoe OG Cannabis?

Experienced and novice cultivators will benefit from growing Tahoe OG. This strain is known for its moderate level of growing difficulty, making it accessible yet challenging enough to the more experienced growers.

Tahoe OG Kush thrives in controlled environments. Indoor growers often find success using hydroponics or soil mediums, as Tahoe OG Kush responds well to both. Sufficient lighting, such as high-intensity discharge lamps or fluorescent lights, is very important. This strain typically flourishes under a standard 12/12 light cycle during its flowering phase, which lasts about 8-10 weeks. Proper ventilation is also essential to prevent common molds and ensure healthy growth.

For outdoor cultivation, Tahoe OG Kush prefers a warm, dry climate, similar to its Lake Tahoe origins. It’s important to monitor environmental conditions, as this strain can be sensitive to extreme weather changes. Feminized Weed Strains of Tahoe OG are preferred, offering a more straightforward cultivation process by eliminating male plants.

Nutrient management is also important. Tahoe OG Kush benefits from a balanced diet, but beware of overfeeding, which can lead to nutrient burn. A steady supply of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, along with the right micronutrients, supports robust growth and potent buds.

Finally, patience is needed when growing this hybrid. Tahoe OG Kush might not be the fastest-growing strain, but the wait is worth it. The resulting harvest typically offers dense, resinous buds with a potent aroma and effects, making Tahoe OG worth the wait for those willing to invest the time.

What Does Tahoe OG Cannabis Taste Like?

Tahoe OG Kush has a complex and rich flavor profile that the taste buds will thank you for. As you inhale, the first thing you’ll notice is its earthy foundation, a deep and grounding taste that’s characteristic of many Kush varieties. This earthiness is complemented by a pungent taste, which adds depth and intensity to the overall experience.

As the smoke settles, subtle hints of pine and woodsy notes start to emerge, which users will understand where it got its name. These flavors blend seamlessly with a spicy undertone, adding a zesty kick that lingers pleasantly. For those with a deeper palate, you might also detect some citrusy accents, which provide a refreshing contrast to the dominant earthy and spicy flavors.

Overall, Tahoe OG Kush’s taste is a beautiful blend of earthy, spicy, and slightly sweet notes, making it a delightful experience for both seasoned cannabis enthusiasts and newcomers. Its unique flavor profile is one of the reasons why it remains a popular choice among cannabis strains.

When to Harvest Tahoe OG Cannabis Plants

Harvesting Tahoe OG Kush at the right time is so important for maximizing its potency and flavor. For indoor cultivation, Tahoe OG typically requires about 8-10 (sometimes 11) weeks of flowering before it’s ready to harvest. Observing the trichomes is a must; when they shift from clear to a milky white or amber color, it’s time to harvest.  Outdoor growers should anticipate harvesting in late September to early October, depending on the climate.

Yields can vary based on growing conditions, but indoor growers can expect about 10-14 ounces per square meter. Outdoor cultivation, with more space and natural light, often results in a higher yield, potentially reaching up to 14 ounces per plant. This generous yield makes Tahoe OG Kush a rewarding strain for cultivators, offering a significant return on the care and effort invested.

Why Tahoe OG Feminized Seeds

Feminized seeds hold a significant advantage over regular seeds, especially for those looking to make their cultivation process more efficient. The primary benefit of feminized seeds is that they almost exclusively produce female plants. Since only female cannabis plants produce buds, this eliminates the need to identify and remove male plants, which do not bud and can pollinate females, leading to seeded flowers.

For growers, this means a more efficient use of space and resources. Every plant grown from feminized seeds contributes to the yield, making sure that no effort is wasted on non-budding male plants. This efficiency is particularly beneficial for those with limited growing space, like indoor cultivators.

Tahoe OG feminized seeds are an excellent example of this advantage. By choosing feminized Tahoe OG seeds, growers can expect robust female plants that will produce the strain’s characteristic potent buds with its unique flavor profile. This not only saves time during the cultivation process but also maximizes the return in terms of yield and quality.

Online seed banks like Growers Choice Seeds have recognized the demand for high-quality feminized seeds. They offer a range of feminized options, including Tahoe OG, which ensures that cultivators have access to top-tier genetics and can expect consistent, reliable results from their growing operations. By opting for feminized seeds from reputable suppliers, growers can significantly increase their chances of a successful and bountiful harvest.

I pulled a bit early but these went around 53 days – two plants yielded 5 oz each. One was in a 5 gallon FFOF soil and one was in 3 gallon 70/30 coco/perlite
If I was doing it again I’d do the coco. 50% less plant size and space and yielded a few more grams than the soil plant that was massive but buds weren’t as developed (probably from the early pull)
I assume the coco one was a earlier finishing pheno.

A blissful strain that makes it easy to relax and unwind, and evenutally sleep! Great smells and tastes coming from this homegrown ganja. Has an earthy, sweet smell and a smooth smoke that’s ideal for blunts and bongs. Never grown weed in my life and had some great success! I highly recommend trying it out yourself, and just wait till you see the results. I walked away with 400 G across 3 plants, more than enough to keep me stoned for months!

Beautiful weed born and bred in NorCal! I grew up with this strain in my home (my parents used to smoke) and now I honor their memory by growing my own. Exclelent flavor and high energy buzz. Perfect for a relaxing night in the mountains 🙂

I grow weed during the summer to have a consistent supply in fall and winter. I like Tahoe for its strong indica energy, it’s earthy flavor, and its long-lasting flower. You can expect a medium yield of about 500 grams when you plant 3 plants….very hardy and sticky and dense flower. I love showing off to my friends. They are JEALOUS!!

  5. Verified Owner

Beautiful plants, they definitely do the work for you! Took me putting them on 12/12 to kick them into flower after around 8 weeks. Still fairly confident they’re fem seeds just a little bit stubborn. Ran 24/0 for first 8 weeks which could have contributed to the delayed flowering. What a cool strain!!!

  6. Verified Owner

Great there growing fast and in week five just killing it.. very happy with this strain.

I previously submitted a review and had some problems germinating. Now my first one is established and looking beautiful. I can’t wait! Plus I was also impressed that GCS reached out to me and replaced my seeds free of charge. I never even complained. That’s someone who stands 100% behind their product. Thanks guys

One heck of a good time! Got some seriously nice looking bud, took about 5 months….feeling great! GCS has great selection and suuuper fast shipping. It’s honestly never been easier!

  9. Verified Owner

I grew this strain outdoors in northern California. They were 7 to 8 feet tall growing in mounds which is really the best for root growth. Harvest was amazing. My friends grow, we trade and sample each other’s harvest. This gold leaf is dam good. I would like to add that when the leaves started turning golden I kinda sent me a path of worry wondering what was wrong but realized it was how this strain flowers.

Great plant. I had a few that didn’t germinate at first and I originally gave up on it but something told me to try again grasshopper so I did. Once again great plant. All around beautiful so far.

These girls have been amazing since jump Street! Two of my phenos have ginormous fan leaves!! They were so gorgeous, But I had to take em’ ! wanted to cry but there was literally no light getting to a majority of the plant these ban leaves were so massive….. once I took them out, these two ladies took off faster than Will Smith’s movie deals getting “cancelled”!! (Yuck Yuck)….. I can tell from intuition and my gut that this is one **** of a special strain! I am stoked to transfer these to 20 gallon pots of super soil and get them outside!! ❤️?

  15. Verified Owner

I love this plant and regret not cloning. Luckily I have a few more seeds. I haven’t even tried it yet and it’s already blowing my mind lol. It’s starting to turn purple and the smell is incredible.

  16. Verified Owner

Very easy grow. Popped 4 of 4 and kept them small by topping & tucking. Still drying so haven’t had a chance to test yet. Very pungent & buds were super sticky. Did an outdoor grow with a few and they got pretty tall 4-5 feet. Got way too much water and not enough sun so was pretty much a loss. Looking forward to this grow tho!

  17. Verified Owner

Easy grow indoor.Kind of tall plants so we topped.Nice dense pungent nugs.Taste and smell great.

  18. Verified Owner

Was 100% on germination. Had 2 different phenos and both were fire. Can’t decide which pheno I like the most. Will grow again soon.

  19. Verified Owner

The overall experience was amazing! This grow was fun this was my 3rd grow ever. Things seem to have gone pretty well the smell is amazing it is an amazing body high with a slightly mind high. I have back pain and muscle spasms or should say nerve issues. This strain helps a lot with many of those issues. Overall the grow went well. It was 2.5 months worth of veg up planted from a 5gal to a 7gal gave it 2 weeks to settle into its new home and then flipped to flower. Unknown to me my timer was broken and even though it was set to be 12/12 it was actually running 24/0….. So anyway 2 weeks later yellowing of leaves and looking sick from too much light I figured out the timer was hosed. Purchased a new one and gave it 2 weeks of recovery. Leaves were pretty much back to full lively green color. So now we are 3.5 months old and flipping to flower under slight stress but I want flower so rushed it a bit. Should have let it recover for a full month. Any who ended up being an 8-week harvest. The first attempt at ***** and the first time with a photo with 400watts probably about 360 actual watts. Harvest was 6oz which is sad for how large the plant was wide, but I think if the pot was larger and given a little more time to recover this could have bared more yield but I grow for quality instead of yield. Though yield is great so you can have some on hand and not be like me trying to rush it into flower with having no bud on hand. Over 10/10 I know the grow says moderate it was quite easy. Sadly I don’t have any photos from harvest day, but have some from about 2 weeks before and maybe a couple of weeks into flower. Greener is younger and the faded is closer to harvest.

  20. Verified Owner

Really easy not a single problem, this is week 2 of flower is beautiful.

  21. Verified Owner

this strain is very potent, easy to grow and produces 5-6 oz dry from a 5 gallon plant….very tall, good flavor and smell 3rd year of growing and happy will every plant I have ever got from Growers Choice…….will never go elsewhere for my seeds

  22. Verified Owner

The lighter color of Tahoe og kush blends in perfectly with my tomatoes and pole beans. Other plants I’ve grown outside stuck out like a sore thumb. The neighbors are none the wiser. I wish someone would pass these genetics on to other strains. A whole line of plants that blend in perfectly with tomatoes!

  23. Verified Owner

I cracked 4 seeds out of five picked the best two mothered them out. cloned 8 took the six best. two of them hermied really bad.
The T H C content is out of sight and the yield was insane compared to everything else I’ve grown for the last 6 years. I may have gotten really lucky but I’ll definitely try these again a couple times. And it has a wonderful Stone

  24. Verified Owner

Well had to harvest two weeks early because of the weather. 6 out of the ten made it to maturity. 2 died when it got 114 for 4 days 1 died because something ate the roots. 1 died because I left for 10 days in the summer and drip head clogged. These plants were all over 6′ except one that didn’t even get close to looking like the others. Good looking bud that looks more like indica than sativa dominant. Great grow. Everything they said it was. Will continue doing business with ya.

  25. Verified Owner

These are at the end of week 6 of flower, very impressed and this is only my second indoor grow. Figure I’ve got another two weeks or so till harvest. All together it’s been a long grow, from germination to harvest will be right at 6 months. I manifolded these plants so I’m sure all the extra cutting increased total grow time due to recovery time for the high stress training.

  26. Verified Owner

At the 24 hr mark I’ve had 2 with nice little tails, and both stopped there. One I waited the entire 72, but I was unable to get them any farther than a1/4” tail. Third try was able to get it going, hopefully It’s going to last. I’m excited to see this in action.

  27. Verified Owner

I bought this on my way to checkout on my first order and I’m still cloning from my first seed almost 3 years later. Fantastic genetics. I should probably get around to popping the rest of them, there could be better to be found.

  28. Verified Owner

    It’s a biggun!

  29. Verified Owner

Seeds Popped Immediately! Grew aggressively. I vegged for 6 weeks and flowered for 63 days. Drying Now so I cant attest to the final product yet, but from the trichs, aroma and denseness of nugs Im sure it will be superb! Wet trimmed at 750 grs on one plant! Thank You for this wonderful Strain.

  30. Verified Owner

I grew 2 Tahoe og kush. All grew good and they had no bud rot when the others had several buds lost. This was an outdoor grow and these plants hit 8’9″ tall.

  31. Verified Owner

My crop of the Tahoe OG kush was out of this world. The flavor is nice – sweet and piney – and i am loving the effects. Focused, creative, and relaxed. And while the yield could have been better, these girls really didn’t get much or need much from me. Absolutely I would buy these again.

  32. Verified Owner

I cannot get over how good this girl smells. It’s a cross between pineapple, pine, diesel, and mango! Very excited to see the progress on this grow so far. Colas are stacking daily and just completed most of their stretch. I tend to go fairly aggressive with super cropping, topping, daily LST, and some heavy defoliation during veg, Let this girl go about 8 weeks before making the flip. Super healthy plant showing zero issues.

This is a fully organic, dry amendment grow using worm castings and some additional fish-bone meal. 6.5-6.8 for watering, and keeping a solid environment has really paid off.

My Tahoe OG kush sits right next to my Blue Dream which is also in week five and I can tell you there is a vast difference between the two in smell and appearance. The Tahoe og kush is really showing a yellowish/gold hue and it’s a wonderful site! Excellent experience so far with GCS!

  33. Verified Owner

This sweet and earthy strain is great for my stress and anxiety levels. I love smoking this Cali weed almost as much as I like growing it! Very fresh and tasty nug with some delicious energy and a vibrant color! Can’t wait to get my greenhouse set up. Things are looking amazing around here!

  34. Verified Owner

I found it a bit tricky to get these girls going in a tent. After three false starts I found transplanting them after the first mature leaves is a mist. Their root system is crazy prolific and needs a bigger environment quicker than I was expecting.

I’m looking forward to ordering Tahoe og kush seeds feminized, I just hope I’m not buying into hype like the rest of these strains out here in the world….

I had a good experience growing TaHOE OG KUSH.
This strain is very tuff and considering conditions during flower I am impressed. First I had to move and I literally pulled my plants and put them in buckets where they finished in my cargo van driving 1200 miles to Oregon.
I would recommend these tuff plants to anyone. I am again going to buy more seeds!!

First time growing this strain and I must say I’m impressed. I topped the plant once, did a lot of LST, and super cropping in order to keep the height in check. This plant was very easy to grow I never saw any signs of deficiencies. The plant is now in its 7th week of flowering and looks like it will provide a nice yield.

GCS 100% hit the nail on the head in their description of Tahoe OG: “Think ‘happy and sleepy with a strong dose of the munchies.’” This is one of my favs when I’m having a lazy weekend or night in at home, which is why it’s one of the strains I always have growing in my greenhouse.

Very easy strain to grow indoors. I made sure to top, LST, and super crop the plant in veg in order to keep the height at bay. The plant is currently at the end of its 6th week in flower and looks like it will be a healthy yield.
