Temp and Humidity

Sage seeds thrive best in an environment where the temperature and humidity are carefully managed. Keep the temperature between 70°F and 80°F during the day. At night, let the temperature drop slightly, but try to keep it above 60°F.

Humidity is very important. During the early stages of growth, Sage plants prefer a higher humidity level, around 60% to 70%. As the plants mature, reduce the humidity to around 40% to 50%. This will help prevent mold and mildew.

Grow Lights

It’s important that Sage seeds get enough light for their growth, whether you’re growing them indoors or outdoors. If growing Sage seeds indoors, you will need a strong, consistent light. High-intensity lights like LED grow lights are an excellent choice. Give your Sage plants at least 18 hours of light per day during the vegetative stage. As they enter the flowering stage, reduce the light exposure to 12 hours per day.

Harvest

Sage seeds are typically ready for harvest after about 9 to 10 weeks of flowering. When the buds are dense and the trichomes have turned a milky white or amber color, they are ready to harvest.  Trim the plants, removing the buds with sharp, clean scissors. After cutting, dry and cure the buds by hanging them upside down in a dark, cool space with good airflow for about a week to dry them out.
