Pineapple Haze
The Pineapple Haze strain of cannabis comes from tropical beginnings, although we aren’t entirely sure where that is exactly. Most cannabis aficionados maintain that Pineapple Haze is a Hawaiian-grown cannabis strain, while others say that its roots are planted firmly in California. Regardless of where the strain was created, what we do know is that it is delicious, potent, powerful, and Sativa-dominant. We also know that the parent strains Pineapple Haze owes its effects and flavors to are Pineapple and Haze. This strain is a real treat for your taste buds. This Sativa-dominant strain has a reputation for offering users a tropical, fruity, pineapple taste with skunk and pine accents. Starting with stimulating cerebral energy that provides users with happy, euphoric effects, Pineapple Haze marijuana will get your mind and body revved up to stay on track and check things off of your to-do list with a rush of mental clarity. In terms of this Sativa’s physical effects, it provides just the right amount of relaxation without resulting in feelings of couchlock and sedation. Many say that Pineapple Haze is the perfect bud for a wake-and-bake smoke sesh, as it gives you the same amount of energy as a large cup of coffee.

Pineapple Haze: Tropical Delight
Pineapple Haze seeds grow into medium to tall plants with massive buds chock full of THC. From top to bottom, the leaves, stems, branches, and even buds are all the same pale green color. One of the reasons behind this is because of the trichomes that cover the entire plant. The resin makes the plant look paler than it really is. If Pineapple Haze didn’t have trichomes, the whole plant would appear bright green. Looking closely, you can barely make out the brown and amber pistils growing out of the bud sites. The harvested nuggets are dense but also leafy, meaning that they will crumble under a bit of pressure. This makes it easy to roll a joint or pack bowls. The finished nuggets are bright green as most of the trichomes have fallen off in the harvesting process. Pineapple Haze has been selected to represent at a few major award shows but hasn’t yet taken home a trophy. With its massive popularity, it seems like it is only a matter of time before Pineapple Haze graces the podium as a major Cannabis Cup winner.
Growing Tips for Our Seeds
Thriving both indoors and out, Pineapple Haze cannabis plants can be easily grown by cannabis growers with at least a medium amount of previous cultivation experience. If you are cultivating Pineapple Haze cannabis plants indoors and don’t have a lot of space, you will not only need to create and maintain the temperature and humidity levels, but you will need to bend and top your plants to keep their height under control. Grown outside, Pineapple Haze weed requires a hot, semi-humid, Mediterranean-like climate. Keep in mind that these plants can grow as tall as 8 feet. One of the taller plants in the cannabis kingdom, this strain requires some pruning and clipping to keep it under control.
Dial in Your Growing Conditions
- Indoor or Outdoor: Pineapple Haze marijuana can be grown indoors and outdoors by experienced growers. The desired temperature for this strain is between 65-80 degrees Fahrenheit. In the vegetative stage, you should provide 18-20 hours of light each day. To induce the flowering stage of growth, you will need to alter the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle. This will take you all the way to harvest.
- Moisture control: Humidity levels of approximately 50-60% during the vegetative phase, gradually decreasing to 40-50% or slightly lower during the flowering stage.
- Training Techniques: Screen of Green, Low-stress training (LST), and topping are the best methods for this particular strain of cannabis. These plants tend to grow taller than others, so keep that in mind when you are employing your training techniques.
The Germination Game Plan
Before you even plant your Pineapple Haze female cannabis plants, you will first need to germinate these seeds. To do so, refer to our free germination guide, knowing that they are backed by our impressive 90% germination guarantee.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Pineapple Haze strain to harvest after a flowering period of 70-80 days. Cultivated within Mother Nature, Pineapple Haze weed should be finished with its flowering stage by early to mid-November.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 500 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 500 grams per plant. You are going to be really excited when you weigh your harvest. The Pineapple Haze plants produce massive buds rich in THC.
Dominant Terpenes in Pineapple Haze: Sweet and Skunky
The Pineapple Haze terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is myrcene, while pinene and beta-caryophyllene are secondary terpenes.
- Myrcene: Most Dominant – Myrcene produces an earthy and herbal scent and flavor when found in cannabis plants.
- Pinene: Secondary Terpene – Found in pine needles and conifer trees, pinene can also be found in cannabis and adds to the flavor and aroma of most strains.
- Beta-Caryophyllene: Spicy and Peppery – Known for being spicy and peppery, beta-caryophyllene can be found in cloves and cinnamon.
Dominant Cannabinoids in Pineapple Haze:
Cannabinoids play an important role in Pineapple Haze seeds and are generally a huge part of most strains of cannabis. That uplifted, happy, and energetic feeling you get when enjoying the Pineapple Haze strain is due to its dominant cannabinoids. Each cannabinoid does something different to the user.
- THC: The Main Character – THC is the most dominant cannabinoid on the molecular level of this strain. The crystalline compound tetrahydrocannabinol is the main ingredient of cannabis. Topping out at 19%, the THC in this Sativa-dominant strain is responsible for the uplifted and happy feeling you get when enjoying Pineapple Haze cannabis.
- CBD: Very Minimal Amounts – While the CBD levels in Pineapple Haze are around 1%, the cannabinoid is still present, and the effects are noticeable in this strain. CBD plays a smaller role in what the strain does to the user. CBD is non-psychoactive and can produce effects that help with anxiety, sleep, pain, and even stress. The CBD in the Pineapple Haze strain, even in its lower amounts, definitely has a positive effect on the user.
