Growing Tips for Our Seeds
Cat piss is a great starter weed for beginning growers. If you’ve never grown before but want to get ample bang for your buck, Cat Piss is a solid strain to start with. While most say it’s Cat Piss’ yield that is favorable, others maintain that it is the plant’s versatility that makes it a fan-favorite. With the ability to grow in a number of climates and environments, once Cat Piss is successfully grown, growers keep it in their roster, repeating the process without many hassles. Where most strains typically do better indoors than they do outdoors, this strain is happy wherever it grows. From closet grow setups to state-of-the-art indoor hydroponic grow rooms, Cat Piss will grow successfully as long as you stick to our easy to follow grow tips.
Dial in Your Growing Conditions
- Indoor or Outdoor: Regardless of where you grow, Cat Piss is resistant to pests, molds and mildew. Cat Piss is one of the many strains that you don’t need to hover over constantly to ensure it hits its mark. It is successfully grown in warm dry climates as well as slightly cooler environments. The desired temperature for Cat Piss is between 68-80 degrees fahrenheit. When beginning your grow, Cat Piss flourishes in an 18/6 light to dark ratio, however, to induce flowering, change the light schedule to 12 on and 12 off.
- Moisture control: The humidity requirements of Cat Piss are between 55-60% during the vegetative stage. You will want to lower the humidity down to around 40-50% during the flowering stage to prevent bud rot. Keep a close watch on the temperature and humidity as these are what contributes to growing lush, full buds.
- Training Techniques: Cat Piss benefits greatly from low-stress training and topping. Both help to create evenly distributed light from the top of the plant all the way down to the bottom buds. Because Cat Piss is a taller than average plant it is imperative that the bottom of the plant receives just as much light as the top.
The Germination Game Plan
Before you even plant your Cat Piss female cannabis plants, you will first need to germinate these seeds. To do so, refer to our free germination guide, knowing that they are backed by our impressive 90% germination guarantee.
Yields, Flowering Time and Harvest
- Flowering Time: With an indoor grow you can expect Cat Piss to harvest after its flowering stage of 55-65 days. Most strains require at least a two month flowering stage. When grown outdoors, this hybrid should finish its flowering phase by the end of September.
- Yields: Indoor yields are 450 grams per square meter, while outdoor grows typically produce up to 550 grams per plant. These yields are impressive considering the relatively hands-off approach you can take with Cat Piss.
Dominant Terpenes in Cat Piss: Purrrfect Buds
The Cat Piss terpene profile is responsible for its aroma, effects and how it grows. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene while humulene and camphene are in the background contributing to the unique aroma and taste of the Cat Piss strain.
- Caryophyllene: The Most Dominant – Spicy, peppery notes. Found in cinnamon, cloves and black pepper. It is what gives Cat Piss its unique scent and flavor profile.
- Humulene: Medicinal Effects – Featured in Chinese medicine for centuries, humulene has a range of health benefits including antimicrobial and antitumoral.
- Camphene: Commonly Found in Nature – Found in the essential oils of numerous plants such as nutmeg, sage and ginger. It features flavor enhancing properties, which is what gives Cat Piss its distinct flavor.
Dominant Cannabinoids in Cat Piss:
Cannabinoids, although in the background, play an important role in Cat Piss and are a huge part of the genetic makeup of cannabis in general. That creative, euphoric and energetic feeling you get when using the Cat Piss strain is due to its dominant cannabinoids. Each cannabinoid does something a little different and depending on how much THC and CBD there is they can produce different effects on the mind and body.
- THC: The Main Character – THC is the most dominant cannabinoid on the molecular level of Cat Piss. The crystalline compound tetrahydrocannabinol is the main ingredient of cannabis. Topping out at around 20%, the THC in the Sativa-dominant Hybrid is responsible for the social and motivated feelings you get when you use it. The favorable THC levels in Cat Piss are desired by cannabis growers and users.
- CBD: Small Amounts – CBD is a cannabinoid that is non-psychoactive but can be found in most cannabis strains. With less than 1% of Cat Piss’s makeup being CBD it has far smaller effects than the strain’s 20% THC content. Even though it is in small doses the CBD in this strain is responsible for quelling soreness in muscles and tendons.
