Is cannabis legal in New Brunswick?

In Canada, including New Brunswick, the administration of cannabis seeds and products in treating medical conditions and symptoms has been allowable to some extent since 1999 (through exemptions in the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act). Since that time, the laws have evolved to enable patients with physician consent (specifically – a prescription) to access cannabis in the treatment of illnesses that are not reacting suitably to pharmaceutical medications. Many Canadian patients seek medical cannabis treatment for cancer, glaucoma, Multiple Sclerosis, ADD, Alzheimer’s, arthritis, and accident recovery.

Today, medical cannabis patients are entitled to grow their own cannabis from cannabis seeds, as well. They are permitted to grow up to 5 cannabis plants per 1 gram of approved cannabis, in their house or backyard (to which there is a limit of 2 plants per gram). Various rules apply, including proper distance from:

  1. a school;
  2. a public playground;
  3. a daycare;
  4. other locations frequented by children

What’s special about auto-flowering cannabis seeds?

Auto-flowering cannabis seeds are specially bred to automatically transition from the vegetative stage (when the plant gains structure and strength) to the flowering stage (development of flowers/buds) after about two weeks of growth. Unlike regular plants, which require a change in lighting from 18 hours a day to 12 hours a day to make this change, auto-flowering cannabis plants contain Ruderalis, a Russian cannabis species that learned to make this automatic transition due to the short summers and cooler temperatures of Russia.

At Growers Choice, we sell seven auto-flowering cannabis seeds varieties, including popular choices like Northern Lights and Blueberry.

Can I buy weed seeds in New Brunswick?

Cannabinoids are compounds found in cannabis that closely resemble many of the neurotransmitters naturally produced by our bodies. These compounds – of which there are about 80 – interact with the neurotransmitter receptors in the body to make up for a lack of a certain chemical, to spur their development, or block the reception of an overabundant one. In this way, cannabinoids can ease pain (by blocking the reception of pain signals to the brain), lift mood (by increasing dopamine production) and prevent inflammation (by controlling immune system responses).

True satisfaction comes from buying Growers Choice

I am so satisfied with my order – I’ve actually already placed another. My two little sprouted seeds (I’m planting outside so I only germinated two) have turned into beautiful little plants with their second set of serrated leaves, and I’m so happy!
